Rail Corporation New South Wales (RailCorp) aims to deliver safe, clean and reliable passenger services. RailCorp provides metropolitan passenger rail services via CityRail and long distance services via CountryLink.

Why did you become an apprentice for RailCorp?
RailCorp was recommended to me as a great place to work. I wanted a change and a challenge in a large organisation that was secure, so I applied for an apprenticeship at RailCorp. I wanted a career rather than just a job and the RailCorp apprenticeship gives me that opportunity.
What do you like about your job?
I had no previous experience of a trade or electronics and despite this I am good at what I do. I learn something new every day in great working conditions. I get paid well and enjoy the variety in my work, I do a different thing every day learning practical skills. There is lots of support and I have been hugely encouraged by the support given to me by other apprentices in my course. The RailCorp apprenticeship is challenging and very rewarding.
What do you believe makes you good at your job?
You are an apprentice so that you can learn a trade, it is all about learning so no one expects you to be perfect. If you have an interest in the trade and are willing to learn and to do your best you will make the most of your apprenticeship.
Would you recommend your job to others? Why?
Yes and I have recommended it! There are other apprentices that have joined on my recommendation. RailCorp is a great organisation to work for, they provide great training and support and will put the time into you to make you great at what you do.
